This is a very strange problem... HELP!!!

Ok, so I purchased TA last week, and after a lot of trouble I finally got it downloaded and installed.  I had several problems with the game right from the start... here is a short list:

1) The Terror Stars don't work, can't attack planets, and crash the game if I try and add them to a fleet.

2) The ground attack animation is gone, and is replaced by a more simplistic picture of the planet map and flags.

3) There are no vistory animations.

In talking with others elsewhere about my problems it was pointed out to me that I appear to have a beta release installed on my system.  I am sure that StarDock can verify that I purchased the game, and downloaded it.... but is what I am hearing correct?  Do I have the wrong version?  Stardock Central says I am running 1.91.021.

1) Terror Stars don't attack planets. They attack stars. The crash when fleeting one is known, though, and will hopefully be fixed in the next patch. Until then, you'll have to manually manage an escorting fleet.

2) That's the new invasion screen. IMO a step forward, especially as the caustic, ear-shattering sound effects of the old one are gone.

3) Did you perhaps delete them from DA in an effort to save space? TA draws on the same files, except for the new victory condition.

Also something you may need to know, Terror Stars require a "Power Up" period of 10 turns once they are fully built. So if you are clicking on them and nothing happens, zoom in until you can see the little writing underneath (like star bases telling you how many mods are available) and you will see X turns until powered up.

Once fully powered up, they will move, but VERY VERY slowly.
