Firefox 3 RC1 has just been released and many users seem to be very pleased with how fast it loads pages. The final release is rumoured to be in June.

Here's a link to the Morzilla download page - if you are interested http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-rc.html

IE8 has been very quiet since it's beta release a month or so ago. I wonder what's cooking there  :NOTSURE:

Using the same darkWB(EarthHour) that I was using w/FF3b5 I now can't read the toolbar buttons until mouseover. The icons are visible but no text.Drats!!!

Didn't even know about that. That is cool. Been using this build for a couple days and it's been working fine.

Been using this for a few days now, works great. I've got a plugin that adds the Aero Glass to the toolbar bg which makes it look ever cooler :p

i love how it zooms making the whole page bigger not just the text, its sooo good.
I also use that at times to make the pages smaller too..

CTRL & + = zoom in
CTRL & - = zoom out
CTRL & 0 = reset

these are the +-0 on the NUMERIC Keypad!

It really is amazing, it's a shame it doesn't work well with WB (the toolbar is still glass with a wb theme applied).

There is a cool way to make FF "think" your plug-ins are "valid" for that version.

Check out: Nightly Tester Tools

The following is a brief list of the extension's features, for the full set of features please visit the extension home page.

* Extension compatibility fixing
--- You just right click on an add-on and go "override compatibility"
* Titlebar customisation
* Build ID retrieval
* Screenshots
* Breakpad information
* Restoring tabs from previous session
* Leak log analysis

It seems to work really well. Makes using these updates a lot easier!

You could keep your firefox 2 with all the add-ons + have firefoxbeta in a separate folder as portable application to test.
AW the firefox3 RC1 Portable Version is here: WWW Link

By the way guys, FF3 RC2 was released last week so hit those update buttons. To be honest, I have never been much of a Firefox fan however I've been using RC1 since it came out and I have to admit FF3 is really fast and it loads pages so frickin' fast it's amazing. No sign of some of the dreaded memory leaks either so it's looking good for a final release in the next few weeks. Then it's 'wait and see' what Microsoft will put together on the next beta of IE8 which I understand will be with us in August.
