Fleet/Rallying Error (?)

Is this going to be fixed?

This may or may not be a bug, but hopefully I'm not the only one who has noticed (and is annoyed) with it.

When you have rallied a planet to a certain fleet, your ships will travel to that fleet and try to autojoin. No problem, right? Well, sometimes they don't join and you have to disband/recreate the fleet.

The main problem arises after you do this. While the flagship may still be the same, now all ships who come out of the planet will create their own fleet upon being produced instead of heading towards the new fleet (which is just the old fleet with a few new ships and the same flagship).

I find this annoying because it means I have to manually disband/recreate the fleet to add the ships which just created their own minifleets and then re-rally the planet to the new fleet before another ship comes out and creates another minifleet.

Am I the only one who notices this? Is there an easier way to handle this problem?

Thanks!

There are a few ships that don't default to auto-joining fleets (scouts, colony frigates I believe, the rest should).

Interesting catch on reforming a fleet and then having ships make their own, I'll have to try it out - don't believe anyone's posted about it before.

One type of Cruiser also doesn't auto-join fleets, but I forget which one off the top of my head.

Oh that's right, I think it's one of the Vasari ones - the Overseer probably?

I use 1.4, I don't have anything weird with my game, but maybe I can give more details if you can't reproduce.

Just have a fleet, have a planet rallied to it, produce some ships, then while they are producing manually disband then recreate the fleet. Now each ship that comes out of the production planet will create it's own fleet instead of joining the other one.

Yeah, that's the way I understood it. I'm at work, so it'll have to wait until tonight for me to try :P

Okay, tried this and I can't seem to reproduce. Here's what I did:

- Started game as TEC
- Built a capital and 2 Cobalts, sent them to a nearby planet to fight.
- Created a fleet
- Set the capital's waypoint to the fleet icon using the Empire tree.
- Re-created the fleet as ships were travelling.

All ships I built joined the one re-formed fleet and did not create their own when jumping in. I then disbanded the fleet completely and created it again (while ships were still building) to get a new fleet icon, and they still joined the new fleet rather than forming their own.

Hmhm, well, I don't know what is wrong with my game then. I'll have to check it out and make sure that I haven't done something different.

Thanks though!
