How do I do this?

I`d like to use the little circle that the Autopilot leaves as the destination to reopen the Autopilot lines

back to the selected ship.

 -- Like (left/right)  click on the circle and the broken lines back to the ship reappear.

Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're asking to be a able to click on the auto-pilot destination, and it retraces the path to the ship? You cant do that, but you can do it the other way around, by clicking on the ship, and it will show you the destination. You might want to look into what you can do with rally points too.
