Might be a Vista thing. AVG 8.0 free, WindowBlinds 6.1 (build 55 x86), Windows XP Pro SP3 here, and all skinning *appears* to be working correctly. Consider upgrading your PC to WinXP.

I also am running 8.0 free, the newest build of windowblinds on XP home with no issues that I've found...

ve3tgy I have a similiar system to OpusCroakus and I am not having any problems. Yeah not much help since we are not on Vista.

First, is the skin you are using one that you had no problems with before?

I had no reason to check but I'll take it that AVG version 8 is Vista ready, yeah silly question.

Did you recently download an update for WB's? If so it's possible that you may have gotten a bad download.

Did you make any recent changes or download any other new software?

I loved AVG 7.5, 8.0 blows. I had no problem with WB, after all I've been upgraded to XP. I didn't like 8.0 at all. I felt it wasn't as customizable as 7.5. Too intrusive. I switched to Avast and I love it. :)

These are my results from trying out AVG8.0 on my 32bit Vista rig. From my earlier post. "FYI:My findings. AVG8.0 pins my cpu at 100% on startup for 8 minutes, then drops to 50-70% during it's 140 miute scan. 50,000k +ram use. Active AV/antispyware kept it humming at 38-55% all the time. Avast;20-30% on startup for 2minutes, 10-30% during it's 80 minute scan.11,000k. Active AV/AS......hello...tap,...tap,tap...Is this thing on? 00-4% if I stare at task manager long enough to see it.This with 6 of 7 providers running(one's a boot scan) Plus it's skinnable! Btw,AMD64@2.4ghz,1.5gb ram 6 month old Compaq PC. Any guess what I'm using now?" [Your mileage may vary.] :p

Well I found where my problem is . It seems that windowsblinds 6.10 is the problem after removing 6.10 and stepping back to 6.01 the issues I was seeing are gone. I have a clean install of Vista and did not encounter the problem until taking the upgrade from Stardock Central to version 6.10.

I have installed AVG 8 here on Vista and cannot see any problems.

Did you install WB6.1 after installing AVG 8?

Well I have done the WB upgrade after installing Avg 8 the latest attempt.
And on a previous install have installed Avg 8 after having WB 6.1 installed and have the same issues.
By that I mean that title bars and buttons are not skining properly.

I have now rolled back my NVIDA driver back to the driver that Vista installed and it looks like the issues have disappeared ! Running again with WB 6.1
