Impulse LogOn Issues

Cant change logon servers till actually logged in

Is anyone having issues with logging into impulse today (May 6 2007), it just says logging on steadily...  I cant even change my logon server till it actually logs in?  Is this a known issue?  Should you be able to choose which server to logon to before login ?

Patiently waiting to logon to impulse to browse and use my applications....

I tried this when I read it but no problems. Tried it again when I got home and still only got a delay but not a large one. Have you restarted in a while? Does it evenutally log in? If it does try clicking on the help menu (the "?") to open the XML data public folder and delete everything in there. Then restart Impulse. Let me know how that works.

It seemed to connect after i posted the message. thanks, i have now tried once again the changing the sever to server 2, however on restart of impulse, it is back to server 1 again, these setting are not being saved or or are they changed everytime impulse is updated? I also noticed after the update today, impulse is no longer having to restart, like previous updates?

Actually the server issue is because there is no private server yet. Just the one. Impluse is switching you back so that you are not trying to connect to nothing.

As for restarting that only occurs when there is an update ready to go. Even though that is being done nearly daily some days it just won't need to happen.

If it never logs in fully is there something blocking it? Security software or a proxy?

Thanks

All has been much better since i uninstalled everything on system, installed stardock central and impulse, however did all application installs from impulse, and just use stardock central now for wincustomize browser and discussions. Im just behind my Router and my windows firewall and panda antivirus 2008. Logging in fine today :)

Thanks

Ok that is good to hear. Your specific use of Impulse and SDC seems to be very common for most users it seems. Should you have any further trouble try out the XML data clearing that I suggested before. Should that not do the trick send in a ticket to support@stardock.com and be sure to mention that you had tried that already (so that they don't suggest it right off the bat).
