Windows Reboot Problem

Since three WindowBlinds upgrades past, I have had the same problem -- upon a boot or reboot, WindowBlinds only skins things partially.  Upon any restart, the taskbar will be skinned; the start will be skinned in a silver sort of default skin, with the start button being a Stardock symbol.  Any program I open, no matter how small or trivial, will have no title bar, and the title bar will not be skinned -- thoughthe rest of the window's frame will be skinned, and any buttons will be skinned.  The skin will refuse to re-apply, refreshing does not help, turning on and off DWM does not help, and changing to another skin will result in the same problem, but with the new skin.  The only thing that DOES work is for me to log off and log back on as the same user, regardless of the level of account privileges the account I using may have; in addition, it doesn't matter if UAC is turned on or off, AVG Internet Security is on or off, or even if I boot clean with only the minimum running + Stardock apps.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Has anyone found a solution?

Here's the System Info WB gives me:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.1 (build 97 x86 - Vista Edition)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Here's a bit more:

The Vista version is Home Premium.  The base platform is an HP Pavilion a6110n, but RAM has been upgraded to 4GB, a 4GB flash drive used for ReadyBoost as been added, the motherboard graphics have been disabled in favor of a Radeon HD 2400 made by Powercolor, the PSU upgraded to 800 watts, and the dial-up modem removed, replaced by a 4-port USB2 expansion card.

Well pmulcahy11b the only thing I can think of is the drivers for your video card. Are they current?

I'm on an XP Home system with an Nvidia card, so not much help. I do remember reading some posts about ATI drivers. You might want to search the forums, seems some folks were having problems, not sure if they had to roll back to a previous version or not. I would at least start there.

Someone will read this tha thas the answer. If not you probably should email support@stardcok.com.

Check your Taskbar and Start menu properties selection real closely to see if you're running "Start Menu" or the "Classic Start" menu, because it sounds like you're in Classic. Depending on how good or badly it's skinned, it can be difficult to see which is selected. My friend had a similar issue and that's all it was.

I truly hope this helps a bit, good luck!

Unfortunately, The Start Menu is set for "Start Menu." I was hoping it was that simple when I read your post. Oh well...

My drivers are current -- but then again, ATI's Vista and newer XP drivers have been growing progressively flakier and flakier with every new release for the past two years. If it is a driver problem...well, I'm probably out of luck until I can afford a new nVidia card. ATI/AMD tech support is...less than helpful. Again, oh well...

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, guys.
