SDC using wrong email address for login

Help!

I had to change my email address recently so I did so through the website.  I loaded SDC today and it failed to log in right off so in SDC I went to Tools/Edit Stardock Account and put in my new email address.  After that the latest version numbers showed up and all seemed well.

But now, if I try to install any updates it retry's 6 times and fails, saying my account info is incorrect.  I opt to view the log file and it's trying to use my old email address to log in.  I checked the account info settings in SDC again and it shows my new email address but the updates/installs are trying to use my old one.  I tried restarting SDC.

Other odd things are going on like any installed programs aren't showing the most recent version but non-installed programs are.  If I tell it to "check for updates" on anything it refreshes the page and nothing changes.  Maybe that's related to the above too.

Is there more I need to do because of the address change?

Aha! A little browsing through the registry did the trick.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Stardock/ComponentManager/ObjectDesktop

The ComponenentManager branch contains the email address that shows up in SDC but the following ObjectDesktop branch has nother email address key that had my old address. I changed that and I can download updates now.

...if anybody else has this problem.

Please be aware if you are reading this, for other but similar reasons, that purchases made with other email addresses (often through the paypal express purchase) will attach that purchase to THAT email address. Support can assist in this if it was a mistake.

For example if you have a paypal address and a Stardock email address but purchase Twilight on the paypal address you will not be able to download the expansion. The downloading software even if it is Stardock Central or Impulse must be able to see the main game and the second expansion before it will download and install the second expansion. Support can merge the accounts for you instead of changing purchase info and email addresses.
