Fly-out menus (problems)

In working with the fly-out menus, I have a persistant problem. When I
click on an icon so that the fly-out menu can show AND when I move the
cursor towards the fly-out menu selection, well then, the fly-out menu
disappears and so I cannot launch anything in it. What could be causing
this? Is there something I overlooked in the settings? Is it a "bug"
that needs fixing? Just what exactly is the correct understanding about
this persistant behavior? At this point, the fly-out menus are useless
to me... and I really want to use them! This occurs in ObjectDock PLUS on my system currently running Vista Home Premium. Any type of fly-outs manifest the same problem.
I completely removed those fly-out menus and re-made them. I also tried to remove shortcuts individually - and the problem persists... can't figure why it's doing that... I certainly would appreciate some help...
