Credits Lost _ End game Stats

At the end of my games I see a statistic that says "Credits Lost to Planet Underdevelopment". I usually have a line that goes way up on the graph, meaning I lost LOTS of credits. The AI loses minimal credits. Now, I always build mining stations for crystal and metal, then build a trade port for each planet as I acquire them. I also upgrade the civic tech tree so the metals/crystals are extracted more efficiently. What am I doing wrong that I lose so many credits over the course of the game?? Is it that I need multiple trade ports at each planet? Thanks.

Nope. Newly colonized planets actually drain money from your income, this is the planet underdevelopment the stat is referring to. You need to upgrade the planets' infrastructure as soon as possible to elimite this drain and actually start making money off the planet population. Some planets need more upgrade stages to eliminate it completely than others.

Hope this helps ;)

Thanks for the reply. I do upgrade the planet infrastructure right away when I acquire a new colony. I put the mouse cursor over the credit displayed at the top right of the screen and it shows me what credits/sec I get from each planet. The ones in the red or minus I have to update. I get them from -3.0 in the red to 0.0. Is that enough? or is there more I should do? Oh, and if I buy tech that increases the population limit do I get more credits from the planet?

Yes, that's all you should do, and that's the only thing that credits lost stat should display. ;)

Population techs do increase the credit income from the planet, yep.

Okay, so maybe because I didn't upgrade the civic techs that increase population limits, the game stats showed i lost that potential planetary income. Hmmm. Something to try in the next game. Thanks. ;-)
