Objectdock Plus issue

i had a program lock on me and require a hard reset in order to escape from it.  upon re-booting, objectdock plus loaded weird.  i have emailed support, but i was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.  below is an SS of my desktop and the little blue trapezoid is all that loads in object dock.  i can right click to open up options, but otherwise nothing happens.  it is a fresh install as of this morning, with a version number 1.90 plus and build number 535u.  i am running xp pro sp2 and have had no windows updates recently.

i'm loving my objectdock but i can't fix it!

as a side note, i just logged my fianee's account on the same computer, and her objectdock loads fine, so it appears to be just my user account on windows.

Are you able to configure Object Dock at all?

if all else fails....
kill od... then:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock

where owner is you

delete the object dock folder and it should load up to the default

i can open the options to configure it, but after a fresh install again today and trying to delete that folder, it still is just the blue trapezoid.

The "blue trapezoid" you're getting looks like the "Vector Cell" dock background. I think that's the default dock but I can't swear to it. So it seems like what you're really seeing is an empty dock with nothing in it. That doesn't quite make sense to me at this point, but without worrying about that, can you add a shortcut to the dock? Easiest thing to do might be just to load your shortcuts back into it.

Here's what I do to prevent problems with ObjectDock:

First, build your docks. Obvious! Play around, experiment, have fun.

Second, SAVE THEM. Right-click on any Dock, select Dock Settings, and go to Themes. Click on "Save Current Dock." This actually saves all active Docks. Choose a name, click Save.

Third, place a shortcut on your desktop. This is vitally important if ObjectDock crashes while you have "hide the taskbar" active. Just make a regular shortcut to the ObjectDock Plus EXE. If you prefer a clean desktop, you can use the Windows XP "Hide Desktop Icons" feature, but it'll still be there and easy to access if you have a problem.

Since doing these three steps, I've never had a serious issue. Even if ObjectDock crashes while running something full-screen, such as a game, I know that all I have to do is double-click that shortcut to bring it back up, and if it's lost my dock settings, going to Themes -> Load Previous Dock will bring them back, too.

Don has the right idea there. Also the Dock will respond to graphic drivers. I don't think that this is really the case but you can save yourself alot of trouble by making sure they are up to date. If you still have trouble after all these suggestions please contact us at support@stardock.com.
