Disconnected from Ironclad Online

I've read about various peoples frustrations with this but 've tried many things and have gotten nowhere. I purchased the game 2 days ago and havn't ben able to play online. This is on the ICO login page and I can't register OR log in. I don't ahve an account and thus need to register, but if I make up a random and fake username/password combi it dosn't tell me that its wrong, it just waits a while before saying DISCONNECTED FROM IRONCLAD ONLINE.

What I have tried:

Disabling 3rd Party Firewall (Comodo)
Disabling Windows Firewall
Disabling Windows Firewall service
Running a P2P program to check my ISP is not blocking data
Port Forwarding
Disabling router Firewall
Placing PC in a DMZ

This is driving me insane. Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you running the latest version, 1.04? Also go into your user.setting and check to make sure ICOServerPort is set to 6000, not sure why it'd be different.

Beyond that, that's Monk's domain :P

am running 1.04 and I never edited the port setting so it will be on 6000. 6000 and the other 6xxx port have been forwarded.

Yet I still can't play online...

@ Sparksalot

I "feel" your frustration even from just reading your post. :) So here's my suggestion.

Please download, read/follow the steps in my guide "Networking and SINS" (not Networking for the Gamer...that one is generic) linked-to from the Technical FAQ or my sticky near the top of the technical forum.

My guess (from the info in your posts) is that your cable/dsl modem is also functioning as a router so you're in a double-NAT scenario. Check my guide for some info with regard to that, and if you're truly stuck on how to work with your "double-NAT" situation I can be talked into helping people via my TS Server.  :D

thanks,

I doubt its the double NAT as I've never had an issue with it before, but i'll try anything at this stage haha

I read your guide already and that was where I got the ports from.

I'll probably do it tomorrow though as its 23:00 GMT

edit: i've just tryed it and no luck, and then I tryed disabling the NAT and no luck, then the router firewall and no luck

then however, no computers had network access even though I reversed everything I had done....odd I thought...so I restored the router with the settings just before I had started messing with it and connection was restablished....but now sins works....

....wtf? I've essentially loaded back on the NON-working settings....but they're working

that blew my mind lol
