Devs ! 1.1 screen shot please!

Ironclad or Stardock.... could you please tease us with a screen shot of 1.1's updated graphics for comparison? I excited, but a little nervous that the new graphic's will slow my FPS.

How about waiting until they're ready??? :)

And from what they've shared, the new graphics are ENTIRELY OPTIONAL and intended for high-power rigs, and won't slow your current FPS unless you want them to try and use them instead of the defaults.

You'll probably need this...

theRetroboy,

You may be fine. It is not a complete graphic makeover. Bascially, we are making changes that will allow the default settings to be much higher, and a number of units will have much more detail.

Actually Craig, cg49me asked the question, not me. But thanks for thinking about me. :)

wbino: no, I'm not a dev. I just pay attention. ;)

v1.1 will also include new graphical options including one with very high resolution textures.

Does Sins check my computer's video card and apply default settings accordingly?
I think some games do that.

Thanks.

They're going to increase texture resolution by 4x is all I believe.

So exactly what 'very high resoluton textures' are we talking about here? I can play Crysis on very high settings at 1920x1200 although with no AA and I'd like to see Sins push my system to the max too.
When I recently started playing SupCom again I was suprised just how much better looking it is than Sins, with it's moving turrets and every unit having a shadow etc. and I'd like to see Sins at least equal it in graphics.

4x higher resolution ones... like I just said the post above yours.

i don't think it'll be noticed that much.
Same difference as going from high to very high in current settings.

The textures are like 512x512, 512x1024, 1024x1024 now most.

4x would be 1024x1024, 1024x2048, 2048x2048.

IT's kinda hard to see with how dark things tend to be. :P
Homeworld2 has the nice lighting showing everything off.

What it'd like is dynamic lights for when weapons fire to light up the ship :) Would be a much bigger improvement than more texture res. I don't see much blurriness in texture as it is now.
