Time to overcome hostile culture.

Does anyone know if you can calculate how long it will takes your cap ships to overcome the hostile culture on a planet, that prevents you from colonising it?

I would like to be able to make an informed decision about whether I should leave all my fleet there, cos it's only going to be a short time, or move everything but the caps onto another target, cos it's going to take some time.

Thanks

If I knew I wouldn't tell you. Just kidding. What are you up to Tony. Look forward to playing tonight.

As far as your question. I think that a lot of setting are in the configuration files for the game. You might want to comb through it to find your answer.

HA ha ha ha! I know you never will.

Its faster with higher level capital ships, as their cultural suppression goes up with levels.

Beyond that, I'm not sure how to quantify it. I've never seen a score anywhere showing what the total culture of a planet is in the first place (only the current output), so I don't know how to figure out how long it'll take to go down.

Often I find the best bet is to move on to the next system, flatten any broadcast centers, and then come back. If you're Advent, firing up the Deliverance Engine before you flatten the place you want to take over helps too.
