1.1 SP goodness too?

I have read that 1.1 will focus on MP and that's cool. But I wonder if there will be SP changes as well. One thing I would really like to see addressed is fleet phase jumping. As it stands now it is not uncommon for my fllet to get all bunched up before jumping and thus they jump at a very staggered stages. Just curious if any SP changes have been talked about by SD and or IC.

Thanks.

You can make them jump all at the same time by right clicking that green arrow on the bottom when you select your fleet. Then you should see three green arrows which is how you set them to jump simultaneously.

I haven't heard of 1.1 as an "MP" patch :P One of the main fixes will include the sync issue in MP games, but it's a content patch more than an MP fix patch, as far as I know :P They haven't said much about it, but we will get higher resolution textures for some objects, and prettier explosions at least. There are bound to be other changes, of course :P

Yeah I tried that and they still get bunched sometimes. Here is what happens. Sometimes they spread out along the edge of the well and it works awesome other times it's hit or miss like the above.

No :) It's a very complex formula that defines the ratio of smileys to words!

Ah, I see.

Out of curiosity, does that improve when you research the 'phase jump deeper in a gravity well' skill?

From my gameplay experience with 1.03 and now 1.04 it looks like a tiny starting point target to begin the jump. A fleet becomes jammed (bumper to bumper) and as they reach the point they then jump. This can fragment a fleet something fierce. For larger forces I like to break them into smaller groups, park them near the jump point, and then jump them one at a time. They actually jump much faster and arrive within a few seconds of each other, so you don't get crippled from the start of an attack.

This should be altered so that the entire fleet can spread out across the gravity well and jump simultaneously, or remove the jump as a fleet button altogether.

That is what I think as well. It does this sometimes for me but I have not figured out the "whys and hows" that causes it to work that way. But when it does happen, they spread themselves out along the edge of the well pointed toward the planet they are about to phase to. It is awesome and it makes for really great timing but this is the exception rather than the rule.

Whoa there! :SURPRISED:  Before I knew how Fleets worked I had each group hotkeyed, phew with tons of ships that got old real fast not to mention somewhat confusing. Now I would be lost without the Fleet feature/button.
