how to create a DVD

The SD Central is a nice thing

but i would like to burn a DVD, as i already had a head crash on one of my disks. The backup is saver and a restore from DVD is sometimes less cumbersome.

I figured out that the backups are in some sort of zip format, but with _ in the name, so there is some utility needed to put them correct.

any hints how to create a DVD (the complete Galciv II in my case)

thx

You need an ISO burning software. I use Easy Media Creator 10. Locate all you GalCiv files in one folder. Go to "create image" in Easy10 DVD Copy, locate the GalCiv folder and you are now ready to burn baby burn.

I hope this helps as it has helped me create bootable discs from downloaded software.

Uh... no.

What you do is right-click on the game in Impulse then say "archive application".  It will make you a file which contains all the game data and will put it in:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Impulse\backup

Or if you're a FOOOOL who uses Vista, you'll find it located at:

C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\backup

Next get the Impulse installer.  Burn the "whatevergame.impulse" and impulse installer to a DVD and you're set.  Install impulse, click the magical blue Stardock logo, say "Restore Archive" and you can reinstall the game without net access.

And for burning I recommend CDBurnerXP.
