The United Kingdom

A small question, Stardock recently did an interview over Demigod, I read it on Gamespy.  In it Stardock claimed it had handled the release of Sins of a Solar Empire well, with plenty of copies in retail shops.  I dispute this success, as any other game distrubutor would have managed to deal with retail shops in the U.K.  I do not jest when I say that it is impossible to get Sins in the U.K. without either ordering it from the U.S> (which is just silly) or downloading it, which lacks the true feel of a game with a box  and booklet (call me sentimental).  Will Demigods release deal with the ignorance of the U.K. countlessly exhibited by Stardock in the past or will it not be known just like Sins?

Just a Comment.

Thanks

A: Ordering it from the US is, from what I've heard, about as much as it costs to get most games locally over there anyways (go go USD, sigh).

B: From what I recall, they just couldn't get a Euro distributor for Sins. Not them hating Europeans or any such things.

Yes, Stardock has been trying to secure a European publisher for most of the year leading up to its release, and they got turned down by every single publisher who claimed the German RTS market would not support a space RTS.

In short, blame the European publishers, not Stardock - because they went through every single publisher that would've been capable of doing the job.

Doing a little research goes a long way, because making such comments and assumptions doesn't reflect on you very well :P

I wasn't trying to be churlish, but merely venting my frustration about the lack of Sins of a Solar empire whenever I walk into a game shop. Though I do no doubt Stardock's genuine efforts to try and get a publishing deal in the U.K. it is strange that a LOT of really really bad games end up in the U.K. that just would never sell, but possibly one of the best PC games this year was not published. Call me cynical if you wish, but its still true.

Well I to like boxes too ( ;p ) but for this game as a UK person I took the plunge and did my first digital download. Glad I did the game is great (tried the demo first of course and that got me hooked).

Digi download painless and the game came out at £23.48 a bargain + the whole process of installation through stardock was painless... :CONGRAT:
