A general "Thanks for making this game" post

Hey there Ironclad and Stardock, dont take this the wrong way b/c I mean it in a good way, but did your game deisners & software programmers somehow figure out how to install crack-coaine into a program, so it could be injected slowly into its users?  Seriously, this game has been keeping me up for hours since the day I bought it!

Iv played lots of games, since thats what I do for a living and a hobby, and this has to be the better or the best strategy game to come out in the last few years, if not the last several.

I really enjoy it, it is simple enough to not get over blown by the depth, but deep enough to make it a through strategy and tactics game.  And Future/Space Sci-Fi genre to boot!

Hands down, in my opinion, the best strategy game to come out since Starcraft.  I was a big player of Starcraft, and a "professional" tourney Zerg player for a few years, I can really say that im enjoying this one.

Iv been able to still be a big player of a lot of the major strategy games in recent years despite my schedules, Supreme Commander being my most recent addiction (of course Total Annihilation & Starcraft before that), and it still surprises me how simple & complex this game is simultaniously compared to those games.  To me, that makes Sins stand out.

I think that the design focus on real time and turn based was a great idea, and hopefully there will be more like it in the future to allow bigger scale games, such as SoaSE.

It has an thoughtfull and simple UI, which is a huge thing I think a lot of game dev's pass up when they make a strategy/tactics game, and it really shows how important it is to the game genre in Sins.  Little things like the auto-building-placer keep your focus on the action, while you can still disable it and design a better fortified planet in no time.  I understand that certian games cant do this, but its a great addition that keeps the game moving forward so it doesnt turn into a Sim-City game suddenly during an assault.  That can be very annoying in other games.

Not that this game isnt without minor flaws, but to have a game be good enough for a user to be able to play and be addicted to it, and totally forget about the flaws AND have fun, is a very big deal.

Thanks a lot, bravo!

If it means anything, u've snagged and addicted a total non-strat gamer with this one.

I've played predominately FPS stuff in the past, but have been looking to get into something new as of late. Sins looked interesting, and the sci-fi element was a plus. Anyway, 2 days later, ive spent 4 plus hours each night playing through 1 v 1 games vs an easy cpu on a small map, and i cant get enough.

The exploration aspect is intriguing, as i always need to know what that next planet holds - is it a crappy asteroid, or a terra planet ripe with mo money potential? The interface hasnt overwhelmed a newbie like myself, and ive enjoyed slowly learning about each upgrade, and trying to figure out how to spend my resources (always puttin way to much into the nova cannon way to early). I love poundin out a strong defense on the edges and choke points of my system, buildin mad hangers and gun platforms, daring the pirates to come in. The whole space/sci-fi atmosphere is beyond spot on. I just enjoy the game world itself with its graphics and sound. This praise is comin from a gamer whos played 100x more hours of TF/CS/BF than WC/SC/CC.

Anyway, im gettin mad long winded here, but im just damn euthusiastic about the game.

Your hard work has definitely yielded great results devs. Thanks for a sick sick game.

I can play a 10 hour large map and not even realize Ive been playing for 10 hours lol. I think the game pacing makes really sucks you in, especially when everything is new to you.

Sins is a well made game - and these days you can not often say that!

Yeah, it absorbs you. This and GalCivII have the uncanny ability to completely steal a free sunday afternoon from me. I played a whole heck of a lot of games, including a pretty huge number of RTS, 4X and RPG games, and none that I know of can make me sacrifice such a huge chunk of time playing them, then going to work and sketching ship designs on contact sheets or writing down fleet compositions on pieces of paper on the tram :P
