When to concentrate fire on Capitals or fleet?

In the early game is more effective to concentrate fire on the fleet more than on capitals, isnt it? Actually they are not a threat for their damage or bonuses at that time, they simply last longer.

What about middle and long game when the fleet are bigger and caps reached high levels? Do u try to get rid of them first?

Depends on what I'm trying to damage. Early on, I'm trying to win the skirmish, so I target the supporting frigates. You can wipe them out quickly, and the amount of damage their fleet puts out rapidly starts to decline.

In later battles, numbers are much greater and it's a waste to focus fire on a frigate. What I want to take out at this point is a high-level capital ship, as that's much harder to replace than some frigates and cruisers.

It really depends.

In the early game, you don't have the firepower to take out a capital ship quickly. Your best bet at that point is to eliminate the support the other guys capital ship has, that being the frigates. A lone capital ship has no chance against a capital ship + frigates, so you can turn the fight quickly. (The Radiance is really effective at this point because it can force ships to attack it. His Light Frigates attacking a Radiance basically just tickle it, meanwhile you're tearing said Light Frigates up with your own ships.)

Later on your fleets get bigger, and you can kill a capital ship that much faster. Thats when focusing on them becomes worthwhile.

If you have the firepower, always take out a cap ship. They are big and hard to kill, but they are more expensive than they are worth from a purely tactical standpoint. Their abilities make them worth using... sometimes. If you take out a cap ship, it costs more than it was worth to replace. A HC is just one of the many.

Losing a capital ship is devastating in the early game. If you can take out their capital by focusing on it it is worth it.

Go after the capital ship, as they are very hard to replace, after they are over level 3 and 4. Most of the time, you can buy the capital ships, and by the level up to 3 or 4, but after that, it must when in some fights, in order to get any higher levels. Level 6 is abilities are very powerful and ther lose can break them in the long run. Also note that no matter which type of capital ship it is, it always has an abilitie or two(or three). So destroying one, not only removes those abilities, but also all that fire power and other bouns.

It does depend on the level of the cap ship as to if I target it first or not. Level 3 or greater, it becomes my primary target. Level 1 or 2 can wait until support ships are elimianetd.

You should always kill the cap ship late game. They are still very expensive to replace, as much as 6 heavy cruisers for the TEC (a force more than a match for a cap ship). What makes them annoying is that someone will get a skill like "drain planet" and be a douche with it. There is nothing more sinister than colonizing someone's highly fortified asteroid in a matter of 40 secs.

Another thing. And I think the dev's are working on this. Cap ships are painfully slow. It is really hard to escape with one.

Six HCs are hardly a match for a late game Cap ship.
