Missing Mod folder

I was trying to add a mod and when I was looking for my Sins files i couldnt find them under what where they should have been but i found them here C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire. Then there was no folder for mods so i added one and put it in there and it didnt work. I am wondering if it doesnt recognize the folder because its in the wrong place. What should I do?

You need patch 1.02 or later for the Mods folder to show up under My Docs (xp) or the user profile path (Vista).

your not going to find the mods folder in program files you need to go to C:\Users\*your user name*\AppData\Local\IroncladGames\Sins of a solar empire\Mods

if it doesnt work got into the game got options click mods and ond the right side theres a button call mods path click in and itll tell you where to find the folder

hope you find it =]

Im haveing the same problem (xp) i have c;\documents and settings\**myusername**\Local Settings\Applacationdata\Ironclad Games\Sins of a solar empire\Mods
Problem is... no such path exists, and i cant alter the files in such a way to make it exist... Whenever i try to create the file "Local Settings" it says file already exists and i am not allowed to name a file that.
Before you say it... yes i have show all hidden files.

**EDIT**
Nevermind i fixed the problem. By going to "Run" on the start menu, and typing in the whole path (c:\doc... ect.. ect.) I can get to were the mod files go...
However, if i back up to the file containing those files. i can no longer get to the mods without hitting run and typing in the whole path again. Its as if files are hidden, but again... i have all my hidden files set to show.
Anywho, thats how i fixed the problem, id suggest that the Mod thing should be placed in the FAQ as i could see alot of people running into the same problem i did.

Oh. The game has to be run once for the path to populate.
