No, I was serious though.. I'm not sure he's actually bashing the game, unless he means that it sucks time away (implying it keeps you busy/entertained) in a bad way   

He is just saying that time flys when he plays the game. IE good game. He was just trying to put it in context with Spaceballs.

It's basic psychology People read the thread name, and already form a perception for what's in the thread, and everything they read is put into context of "This game sucks". That is sucks time away is easily read over, in favor of the capitalized "SUCK SUCK SUCK"

I learned that a long time ago working at a hotel. many people only hear or see what they want to see.

Ah yes, Annatar, I see what you mean. "This game sucks" is Zellio's way of saying "This game rules!." I can now see how "SUCK, SUCK, SUCK!" actually means "AWESOME, STUPENDOUS, UNEQUIVOCALLY THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED (because of the amount of time that it takes from my life)".

And if the OP doesn't mean that then he should. Because it is. And it does. Suck, I mean (in the aforementioned AWESOME, STUPENDOUS, UNEQUIVOCALLY THE BEST GAME... aw, you get the point).

Humor doesn't always translate well on-line. Consider if someone didn't get the Spaceballs reference (I didn't), the fact that many here are not native English speakers, and also the last line of the post. If it weren't for the final line of his post, I'd have assumed it was just a joke. That last line makes me wonder though.

The last line is from Spaceballs too.

Actually, I was thinking about posting a "This game sucks" thread, but it was going to turn out to be a complement. The title would have been This game sucks... (notice the periods) It would have continued inside the post as ...me away from my real life. Or something like that. It would have been a great attention grabber, but I don't think I would have attracted the kind of people I wanted posting on a thread I created. So, in the end, I decided against it. I believe the humor would have been obvious enough for just about anyone to understand.

Ah, well, there you go, case in point. If someone isn't quite that familiar with Spaceballs, then it's not obvious it's humor.

XroadkillX, that's actually what I was expecting this post to be when I read the title. However, as I mentioned before, I was a bit confused after reading that last line (and not knowing it was a Spaceballs reference).

Wow, you don't need to have seen the movie to understand what the point of the post was. I've seen it but I didn't recognize/remember the quote, the first sentence was sufficient, and the next reinforces it. To the OP: I say good job for exposing people.

The only people he exposed are those who will come to the aid and defense of the game.

Actually the name of the topic "This Game Sucks" is offensive and tactless, even if he is being sarcastically in favor of the game.

That one little subject line could dissuade someone from buying the game. Say someone is interested in buying the game, he comes to the Sins forum and sees that subject line. He decides that's all he needed to see and closes the web browser. Revenue lost all because of this OP.

I didn't misunderstand at all. The subject line "This Game Sucks" is offensive and tactless.

Oh, please don't think I brought anyone out or did anything good or bad in this topic. It was simply meant to amuse you, or me, or anybody. I found my swartz in a crackerjack box and tried it out   

If saying a game sucks is offensive to you(Which could be someone's opinion), maybe you have as much free time as I had today and should do somethign constructive besides worshipping a game...

If you guys don't like humour because it bashes your favorite game, then please GET A LIFE, as you probably play this game as much as World of Warcraft and it is your life.

If it's in humour bash my car. Bash my house. Sometimes it's nice for things to not be taken seriously.

And do you honestly think a person is just gonna read the topic title and not read why it sucks? People aren't that dumb (I dunno where you came to that conclusion). People are gonna come in and find that I'm acting like a dumbass, which I'm fine with

Actually, you're quite wrong. As I said earlier, I thought it was all just a humorous post until I read that last line. Now, if I'd remembered that line was from Spaceballs (yes, I saw the movie many years ago), then it would have been obvious it was a joke. Since I didn't realize that final line was from the movie, it changed the whole tone of the post, as that last line seemed to be serious.

The point being what I first posted: humor on-line isn't always obvious, especially if it's based on a reference with which not everyone may be familiar.
