IP & Vista 64 bit

Hi Guys,

I see there is already a post for IP not working on Vist 64 bit but it is a few days old so I thought I'd post a new one to keep your really busy...

IP and purchased packages install problem free however Start Menu icons are exchanged with a blank sheet icon. When I try to open IP it will not run from Stardock Central or from the Start Menu, hence I cannot change packages. No errors, nothing not even a ding.

Related to the Run Application issue in StarDock Central, on my Vista 64 installation (which is still pretty much virgin except for patches and now my StarDock stuff) none of the installed Object Desktop or Misc Items can be started through StarDock Central, all must be started through the StartMenu which is a real drag.

One of the dev's posted saying within a week there would be an update to add x64 support. So my guess is sometime next week.

Updated Today - IP starts normally, but I don't see any difference. Changing IP-packages seems to work though (it is hard to tell as not all packages change all the icons).

Impulse claims it is version 3.99.143, but the version-number on the "about"-page shows it to be 3.00.00(x64). I am starting to wonder whether IP updated at all?

i've installed the new 3.99.143 version too on my Vista 64 ultimate and still when i apply packages it doesn't change the desktop icons, plus some other icons like my main hard disk and other ones...

aufisch: Do you have the new UI or the old one?

I have still the old UI. Until the last update that was kind of expected since IP didn't officially support Vista64. :)

I've got the same or close to the same problem here. Running Windows Vista x64.

Since I installed a couple Stardock programs (Object Desktop Ultimate) absolutely all the EXE files and shortcuts have this white icon instead of the program's normal icon. I cannot pinpoint which of the programs did this. Un-installing all programs had no effect. Re-installing (newer) versions had no effect either.

I'm having the exact same problem. I installed everything and my icons went to the white "missing icon" symbol... I can manually force each icon, but trying to use IconPackager does nothing. It won't even open on Vista Home Premium 64bit. I have version 3.99.146.

hello dizplaced, you have almost identical com. specs. as me, have installed version 3.99.146, does not work at all only takes the icon skin off, you have to do system restore to get them back, icon packager 4 should resolve these problems, am told. have to be patient i suppose. should be out soon.

Same problem here. Stardock, are you getting this feedback? I haven't seen any replies lately. What news can you tell us? Do you have a goal on when this will be fixed?
