Focus fire....

    I've been playing for about a week, I keep reading in the forums about " focus fire" but I have know idea what it is, could someone clue me in? Also why won't the TEC colony cap ship not aquire vunerable asteriods, only the small frigate colony ship.  And what do the higher colony levels in the Akkan do?

- Focus fire is quite literally focusing your available firepower on a single ship/structure :)

- The technical answer is neutral mine capturing is a separate ability. All ships/structures are limited to 4, and all capitals already have 4 so.. :P

- Higher colony levels on the Akkan build free ore/crystal extractors (1 free at level 2, 2 free at level 3) when you colonize. You'll need to wait a few seconds for them to appear.

Focus fire is subject to some diminishing returns in this game, due to the fact that the more you beat on a particular ship the more damage its shields mitigate. It's still a viable tactic, just be aware that focusing your entire fleet on that one annoying cap ship isn't going to make him go *pop!* instantaneously.

I'd have to agree about the font - that is, smaller sections of text are easier to read with slightly larger fonts (the fonts here on this board are rather small, actually...).

Focus firing is selecting many or all of your ships and attacking a single target (or only a few single targets). Focus firing makes faster kills and therefore removes more enemy damage faster giving you an advantage.
