Failed registration

I installed the game from DVD, entered in my email and registration code, but the game is not working.  I cannot launch the game and my account says that I do not have the game registered.

Where do I go and register my copy of the game?  How can I manually do this since the install software obviously screwed the pooch on this one?

Thanks

Ok, I installed it on my laptop and that installed fine. So the CD keys are right and all.

As for what is wrong on my main desktop machine, when I start SOASE from the Start Menu icon I only see the install buttons. No options to actually play the game.

I did manage to download the 1.03 update, and still no luck.

I finally went through SDCentral just for giggles and although it is damn ugly, the game started. More so, it installed a 1.03.xx patch that then installed an icon on my desktop that actually starts the game.

So I am not sure what kind of funky setup I have but at least something is playable.

I shall uninstall everything tomorrow and start clean to see what happens... I really don't want to have go through SD Central everytime to play.

Can you be clearer about exactly what you're doing? Where are you trying to register at? As installing from the DVD does not require registration of any sort. You only need to register once on the site here to download the patches.

I installed the game normally. Everything looked ok, the game started and everything was fine. However, when I tried to start the game again from the "Start Menu-?....->Sins of a Solar Empire", it would bring up the launcher(?) screen, but the launched screen would only have buttons for "Install". There were no buttons to play the game.

The question about registration came when I tried to do it again. This time, after the game installed and ran for the first time, I choice to download the patch. This is where I entered in my relevant keys and such. The issue was that after I installed the patch, I still did not see the "Play" buttons when I ran the "Start Menu->Stardock Games->Sins of a Solar Empire".

Then I tried downloading Stardock itself and installed it. Using this software I was able to start the game normally.

So the $10,000 questions is how come the launcher did not change over the "play game" version and is stuck on the "intall" version?
