wanting to add my own program object icons to desktop theme

At present I'm using the Teak and granite theme and wanted to be able to add other icons to the top bar. The options ar documents, customize, creativity, utilities, media, tunes/vids, ctrol panel, log off, spyware, and internet. I realize that I can add the object types from the Desktop X, but I wanted "specific programs' to be set into thebars at the top. Can this be done on theme or others for that matter, and if so, how?

you have to do it in builder mode unless the theme allows the addition in client mode

Its very simple tseyigai. R-click on desktopX client systray icon and then select switch to builder mode and you will be switched to builder mode. Now r-click on the dxbuilder systray icon. select new object. a window will open. Now in front of object type click on change. Next select shortcut from dropdown list. Browse for the program file you want to have a shortcut for. Click on Ok. Then go to states tab. Select the png or jpg file you want to have for your program. Now go to summury tab. set width and height accordingly. Now r-click the bar(be sure that you are clicking on the background) on which you want this icon to reside. Now a window of properties of bar will appear, go to its summary and Click in front of objectID. Copy the Object id and now cancel this. go to the properties window of the object you were creating, on the summary tab and paste the text you copied in front of Parent/owner. Select child as no and click on OK. Drag the object on the bar where you want it.

Its all in short if you can get this then its nice otherwise go to wiki.wincustomize.com or romanda.wincustomize.com to read some tutorials. They explain all this very nicely with images.

Thank you that was very helpful. Lastly, is it possible to change the backround texture of the menu bar? How?

I m pleased to hear that it helped.
tseyigai, It all works similar. If you want to change image of any object then r-click on it. The property window will open. Go to the image and select any image(jpg, png). There are some other properties like transparency, hue, brightness.... Play with them and you will learn more on desktopX. Feel free to ask anything with dx in forums. :)
