Trouble installing new patch.

I encountered an error upgrading to the new patch.   I downloaded the "bonus pack" off the website thinking that was the patch.  In stardock central it still shows the game needs to be updated.  When I try to update it has an error moving "sins_install.exe" in the base directory.  I'm going to do an "application repair" in vista to see if that will fix it, and if not uninstall and reinstall the game.

Anyone else had similar issues?

I want to thank stardock for supporting my download at the speed of 1 MB/S. It's nice when things like this happen :)

Does that mean the reinstall worked? Sort of odd that it happened in the first place - but I've always updated through SDC. Auto-updates are a safe bet for me :P

No, uninstall did not work. Fresh install through stardock central failed while trying to write a registry file.

Uninstall actually failed through stardock because it said it didn't have administrator privileges. I'm running as the admin right now, so I have no idea what the deal is.

Seems like a privilege issue... but I have no idea how I can go any higher than admin.

Next stop, installing from supplied CD, then upgrading from a different source than stardock central. I think stardock central is the problem.

Changed the install directory as well, to ensure everything is fresh from files to registry settings.

Try emailing support@stardock.com meanwhile, I guess :x I really don't know what it could be, unfortunately.

Are you using Vista by chance?  If so, try running SDC as an Admin (right-click on the shortcut and Run as Administrator).  It sounds bizarre (and it is), but it often does the trick.

If you're using XP, please post back.
