My stargate shippack is ready

Well its finaly done I finshed it yesterday we got snow in here so I use the time to get some of my mods done.So heres whats in the pack 58 Stargate ships no Nox or Aschen  those are being made as we speak.There is no wraith crusier that is being made also but you should enjoy what ive made there are also starbase included in the pack.The textures may be off for some of the ships only a few other than that they should work fine. I tryed  to  upload it the other day but something was wrong with my internet connection but check back here by tommrow wensday at the lastest.So when its uploaded post some screenshots show them in action all comments or question welcome.

heres a list of some of the ships that I didint show screen shots of
2 types of Atlantis city ships you'll noctice the whats different about them.Theres more than enough SGC ships to make your own ship style I did play with all of them in my game.So I diont know if theyll all play at the same time.But I do know that they will work with any Star trek,B5,Battlestar,or Star wars ships that you might have on your computer. I have all of them so I know that they will work so use the link above try them out you may also wnt to place them in your mods folder default models section seperatly.Because if you copy them from the zip it may replace some of your ships that you already have.Plus one last thing youll also need to rename S99_Huge/Tiny/Med you should know how by now if not place a post I'll help you thats all for now enjoy.

Though it's stupidly early in the morning where I am, and sleep is my main focus right now.

But before I do go to bed, I'm going to take a look at your ship models in a 3D model viewer... Just to wet the appetite.

I hope your release gets a huge number of downloads, and becomes a community favourite!!

Just incase people diont know how to install the ships heres how to there should be a readme inclueded with the mod but just incase you'll need to rename them go into your DA or GC mod folder choose the models section look for the x fromats files Title S99, Tiny,Huge,Large,Small,Medieum, you'll see what I mean.Next just copy and paste the ships that you want.You should copy them in manualy because if your using other ships that are in X format it might replace them to use the starbases just look for shipstyle of the race that your using the most Terren,Dregin,Korath and just copy and paste them.Before I forget backup the starbases in another file so you diont loose them.

I'm good for installing.
I've also managed to get one of your ships into Lost Empire:Immortals..
Though, that was just a tester.

I'm going to pick out my favourite ships and begin putting spec and Normal maps onto them... which will probs take the extracted folder to around 300Meg ;)

Anywho, i've taken a look, and it's great work. Good job foxthree, looking forward to more of your work.

Hey foxthree... Just installed a few ships.
They are all pointing the wrong way.
What I mean is that, in the ship editor/designer their arranged along the wrong axis.
I viewed your models in a programme called 3D object viewer, and as far as I can tell, the ships run along the Y axis. I changed their facing in the 3D programme I was using, but when I save them, it seems to corrupt the model file and cause Galciv to crash, meaning that I can't fix this problem myself.

I'll see if I can find a solution, but I just wanted to let you know of the issue i'm having.... however, even though they are facing the wrong way in game, they still looked fantastic.

which ones are doing it and ill fix the problem not all of them should be doing that I say 10 at the most I was up late making it and didint try them all.So let me know what ones are the problem and ill fix it.This was just a test mod to see how they worked out in other peoples games the mod im making everything will be improved.

Ive removed the pack to fix the problem some of the ships are backwards not to many though check back here tommrow it will be fixed.Sorry for the trouble it will be fixed there where too many to test out one by one.

I'm not to good at using mods ive put the ships into C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Gfx\Models and loded the game but i carnt find any of the ships can anyone tell me what ime doing wrong?

Hi Harborne.
You can't just drop the ships into the game as they are.
you will have to do some writing in the XML file.
You can add the hulls as specific ship types which can be researched by certain techs, or you can put them in the game as Structures.. meaning they will be jewelry peices in the ship editor.

You would then have to use KHSM and it's blank peices to build the ships up.

I'm sorry if this doesn't make much sense to you, it didn't to me, but I had a lot of fun learning how to do it. ;)

If you don't want to learn how to get these ships in game, you would really have to wait for Foxthree to put them all together in a mod, with all the needed XML files for you. However, the time that it could take could mean it will be a while.

I'm going to load up all the ships in my viewer and see which ones are okay, and which are not.... The ones that are okay, i'll throw into my game and see how they look.

you shouldint have to do any of that anyway only if your trying to make a custom shipstyle S99 MEANS generic so any race can use them.They wiont showup right away you have go into your ship builder and choose templates,and thats where they'll be at.Plus you need to choose your [mods] folder you caint just place them in your normal game folder and expect them to work.You wiont need KHSM ive never used it before.So I now you wiont need it.

As far as I understand, you still need to do some XML work. You have to tell the game that the parts are in there, no matter if you place them as just hulls or jewelry pieces.... Unless an easier way has been created that i'm not aware of? :D

the xml is created automaticaly once you place parts you have to go into where you place logos and portraits and thats where they'll.

I should sya also foxtrhee, that I tried placing the ships from the last pack in the game as structure pieces. any attempt to change the scale and size of the model causes a crash.

I hate to be giving negative reports of your work, so hopefully you'll see it as my enthusiasm for the pack. The SGC ships look fantastic in the model viewer prog I use.

Anywho, hope to see the updates pack soon.

you shouldint have to scale them or change the size once its be converted to x you have to convert it to another format than you can change the size of them.Because I learned that the hard way with some of the star trek models it crash every time.

I don't mean changing the size of the models themselves... I mean that in their current form, if you install them as Hulls, they are all facing the wrong way and you can't change their size in the in game ship editor. Where as, if you install the ships as jewelry pieces, if you try to change the size it causes a crash. You can rotate them though.

I just don't have the skills to fix an of the problems sadly. If I did, I would be helping you out. :D
