[Suggestions:] Centre camera and fix to window mode.

Hey everyone,

My apologies in advance if this is not the right place to make a suggestion (couldn't find a suggestion forum or thread), but is anyone else missing the ability to reset the camera to it's default position? I looked endlessly at the key configuration menu but couldn't find the option to map a key to that function. Ended up disabling the tactical grid as it sets off my OCD trying to allign the grid in the centre each time I rotate the camera :P.

Another little piece of feedback is that there is a minor problem when playing the game from window mode. I always use the mouse to move the camera around my empire. This however is a little hard to do because when the games mouse pointer leaves the game screen (thus turning into the windows pointer) it doesn't pick up my commands to pan the camera left, right, up or down. When I make the window fit the screen, left and right panning is solved, but up and down remains a problem due to the games window and Window it's taskbar.

Would it perhaps be possible for the devs or a modder to add a fix to these two small features into an already amazing game? Or am I just missing something that might solve what I'm looking to fix?

To borrow a phrase from our illustrious online comarades, “You’re doin’ it wrong.”

Well, aside from the fact that the arrow keys actually are more accurate for panning the screen altogether.

That said, you really shouldn’t be panning at all; instead, use the fact that zooming can be set to focus on the nearest object to the pointer. Instead of panning, zoom out and then back in on what you really want to look at. As a side-effect, you’ll actually have a better sense of spacial awareness of what’s going on around your focal point, and that can make a significant difference if you’re trying to manage tactical maneuvering outside of the fleet organization.

I agree with SquipdLord, i use 2 screens and always play my games in windowed mode if possible. Zooming out and in is really useful and fast.
At first i didn't like the focus on zoom function at all and turn the option off. But then i was forced to use the arrows or screen edges. It only takes time to get use to it

I would really like a WOW style windowed mode tho, it removes the frame all around the window making any alt-tab faster.
