Destroying Labs question.

If you lose a Military/Civilian lab, I know the tech level goes down and you can't use that tech anymore, but if you put another lab up, and the level goes back to what it was, do you need to re-research?

No. You keep your research, but lose the ability to use it until you have the appropriate number of labs.

But stuff like weapon damage increase isn't lowered, right?
A few research fields grey out when you lose a station, those are unusable then. As far as I know (please correct me if I'm wrong here) the ones that do not grey out stay active (which includes weapon upgrades for example).

Correct - the only thing losing labs does is make you unable to build ships/structures that needed an x number of labs, and fire the superweapons. Any passive ability techs or upgrade techs are not affected. :)
