Old Player, Old Bugs?

Just recently re-installed GalCiv II CE (no add-on packs) 1.50.135 and noticed 2 bugs that were present back when this game was first released (I honestly have not played it much since release).

(1) In ship design, when you try and upgrade a core ship (I like ship design, but prefer to focus on just adding core components rather than jewelry) the components listed at the top (e.g.  those placed on the ship) are typically not from the design you just told it to upgrade and instead look like they are from alien design.

(2) In ship design, when I update one of my user-designed ships, the components listed at the top typically show a size variable smaller than I could put on the current design (e.g. they show a size 3 engine, when actually it is size 4 for that ships size, etc.).

Am I missing some update which fixed this?

I vaguely recall behavior like that, but I have no idea if it has changed in the latest DA or TA builds.

IIRC, someone here advised me to just make the core ships obsolete and do my own from scratch, or else I just decided to do that on my own. Like you, I don't spend much time (yet) on jewelry, and ignoring the built-in designs has worked out OK for me. You can re-use your own "core" designs across multiple games, so aside from the first time you work one up, it ends up being about the same amount of clicking.
