HuntingX's Replay Thread

Due to popular request, this is just a place where you can take a look at some of my games.

They will be listed below, with brief comments.  These are the same games that were posted earlier in other parts of the forums, but now you can get them all in 1 place.  Aren't I nice?

Summary by Jinx

1st one was HuntingX vs innociv

This game was HuntinX showing innociv that well executed LRM rush can't be countered. Hell, innociv ALSO went mass LRMs which completely contradicts his point about them sucking.

2nd one was me(Jinx)& HuntingX vs innociv & Tarin

This game I was TEC so that I could feed cash to HuntingX. I countered Innociv's LRM rush with my own LRMs + repair station. My counter fleet ended up mostly wiping out his fleet so I went to attack with it. Mind you, this fleet was just for defensive purposes originally. I was only trying to not die so that I could ensure HuntingX gets his RA up as quickly as possible. Once he got his RA, the "GG" was set in stone so I stopped microing after that point and just spammed units while watching HuntingX kill everyone.

2v2 Clan War, I get caught with my pants down, but turn the tables on my attackers with good assailant micro

1v1s

In one game, we see why Akkon is a crappy ship as it gets crushed by fast assailants.

Game 2, a faster build and early pressure forces an early concession.

Pay attention to micro and queuing as fleets collide.

Yeah, thanks for posting these!

Jinx - in the 2v2 game, you built three military labs early on, but you never researched any T3 tech until much later. Is there some other bonus for having extra labs, or were you just preparing for eventually teching to Robotics Cruisers, and changed your mind later?

I figure I'll post all of my "inhouse" type games here (win or loss)--> no losses yet

2v2, random, pirates. I keep trying to take my damn desert, and I keep getting ganked by innociv. Enforcers are still pretty good.

2 games, 1 2v2, 1 3v3.

3v3 is RA, 2v2 is standard. Enjoy.

Thank you!

These have helped me out a lot I learned a couple things that you don't learn from tutorials or the instruction manual.

I took a look at the first game, and there's quite a bit to learn from the mistakes PrinceOfTheUniverse made. First of all, I can only assume that you were more familiar with the map than him, given his negligence of the asteroid fields at the very beginning of the game. When he finally did make a move for the asteroid field near him, enough time had lapsed that you where able to engage him there. The fact that he didn't go for the fields right away gave you the upper hand economy-wise on a map so small that going for the second planet can prove fatal. As it did. Then, there's the fact that you unlike your opponent scuttled your capitol factory and your colony ship (after you took the asteroid) providing you with more resources early on and fleet capacity for an additional assailant, which were a factor in making PrinceOfTheUniverse upgrade his fleet capacity a good deal of time before you (taking a 9% hit on an already subpar economy for a relatively large period).

Given all of the above, you clearly had the upperhand when you both withdrew from the field. But nothing decisive had happened until your opponent forgot about the important first pirate launch, and to add insult to injury, decided to attack his nearby ice planet at the same time. I stopped watching at that point. To be fair, it's mistakes I've made myself :) Always easier to be the critic... He was, however, in the proces of changing his fleet composition, which might have helped level the playing field had he not made the previously mentioned mistakes.
