Problem with bootskin?

im using XP and everytime i try to use bootskin, my windows does not start up correctly and i had to choose "start with last working configuration" or something.

so, anyone knows whats my problem and how to fix it?

Some drivers and bios makers "break the rules" which can cause BootSkin to not work correctly. If you experience that, you can remove BootSkin by deleting \windows\system32\drivers\vidstub.sys. And then try one these alternative versions.

Alternate version 1  and Alternate version 2

does there happen to be a list of bios makers that bootskin does not work with so i can stop pounding my computer for giving me the same problem? i have tried all 3 versions, the .bootskin files load fine into the bootskin program and they preview well but unfortunatly i cannot get any to work. i have tried all included skins and downloaded several that i like but to no avail. i would like to be able to use the cool startup screens.
