Stardock Central issues

What version of SDC?
What OS?
Can you post one example that failed for you?

There are multiple threads about this already. Your best bet is to find one of them and see whats going on.

or just answer Zubaz's questions that came up while i was posting.   

I tried to find some threads about it but failed miserably hehe. I'll look again, though.

I'm running version 2.52.516 build 165 on Windows Vista Ultimate 64. The latest failed download is "Artifice WB".

It's not a huge deal, really, since it works from the websites - but...you know. =P

Edit: Found a couple of other threads but there was no real solution in either of them. It does appear, however, that it's a server-side problem. Not client-side. I'll just whip off an email to support and alert them to the fact that the problem is still there.

Sounds good we have been doing some follow ups the last few days. One thing you can try just to ensure that it is not client side is a fast reinstall of SDC

 -Run the file here: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/remove_sdc.bat
 -Restart your computer
 -Reinstall SDC from here: http://sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe

It isn't effecting everyone and in many cases it dose seem to be client side. However we are still following up with details and hope to have a solution right away.

I just got a reply to my email from Travis and it turned out to be something so simple I would never have thought of it. I simply cleared out all my cookies and, presto, SDC works properly again. Go figure hehe.

I should mention that deleting the cookies in my default browser (firefox) probably wouldn't have done much good since SDC appears to use the IE engine to render pages. At least that's the impression I'm getting.

Aanyhoo - I emptied both cookie jars and now I can download through SDC again.

Yeah that seems to be the case with more than half the people having troubles. Please let us know at support if you have tried this already should you need to write in.

So far so good. I can't believe I didn't think of cleaning out my cookies myself hehe. It was just too obvious. I was already worrying about my router screwing up ports and such and such.

Occam's Razor and all that.

It happens more often than you would ever guess. It isn't a big deal at all. To admit it I didn't think of it and the web team pointed it out to me. Spread the word if you can.

Well... Clearing out the IE cookies solved my problem. Doh!
