Reinstalled , now it wont show up in stardock!!!

I copied the C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire original non patched to a cd for backup incase hard drive is lost or anything like that rather than redownload it.. However i messed up on some modding , uninstalled the game and copied over the backup for repatching through stardock.

But now stardock is showing that sin's is not installed nor can i run it via stardock ( can manually via the dir ) , i'd have to redownload it and i don't want to do that

Any ideas?

Because you did not back up the registry entries, which were removed during the uninstall. You will need to do a proper reinstall via SDC to recreate them.

Next time, use SDC's archive function rather than just copying the files manually. Using SDC packs the game up in a format that SDC can reinstall from and recreate everything needed to properly run it. Just right click on the game and choose Archive Application->Entire Application. Then you'll find a .sdc file in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Stardock Central\BACKUP (or wherever it is set to put them in the options), which you can copy to a disc for storage and reinstall later via SDC.

Re-downloaded - archived and burned
