frustrating AI

It's getting boring...

So is anybody else pissed about the total cowardice of the computer AI?  In multi-star games, the enemy fleet spends the entire time jumping into stars and out without stopping jumping straight out.  I can't get them into a straight fight, even when they massively outnumber me.  It makes a big-game mid-game very tiresome, and the mop-up a chore.  It's like the computer thinks it can win by running and boring me to death.

But, I have a solution...  Get rid of the inhibitor-inhibitors.  If they jump into my system, make them stay a while and enjoy the party, OR let me fortify star gravity wells.

I think an idea would be to have an internal cooldown timer for interstellar phase jumps.

That way if someone jumps into a star they are stuck there for a period of time and are forced to fight or jump to the closest planet, which could have a jump inhibitor as well.

That makes things like scouting ahead much more important as well.

Yeah I have to admit the AI at times seems like a wack a mole game.. For instance on teh map the razor my two ai team mates were killed off for beign incompettent.. Anyways I decided I might as well make it a epic last stand battle at my home world so I allow the ocmputer to wipe out my other worlds..

Now with a pretty impressive fleet at my homeworld full of fully upgraded turrets and repair bays it was looking to be a pretty awesome last stand.. Except that last stand never occured I waited for 20 minutes, the computer was at the adjacent metor to me.. And they never jumped in.. It was freaking stupid to say the least when they outnumbered me 3 to 1.. Finally I just stopped the game.. They never did attack me,

Improvements in the AI expected in the next patch. I don't doubt this'll be fixed.

Yes, I have found if you kill an AI's Capital ship (if they have few) they will turn tail and run even when they out number me in an attack.

At times I have jumped after them and at least one occasion, I found the AI was already jumping back to the system they just left.

I hate how all the ships the A.I. sends are either combat frigates or Siege Frigates. No variety whatsoever.
