Unable to log onto iron clad online

  • I can't connect to Ironclad Online (ICO) or any LAN games.

Make sure your software firewall (including the Windows Firewall) has not blocked Sins of a Solar Empire. With some firewalls it may appear that Sins has frozen, as the firewall is waiting to receive confirmation to proceed. You may need to exit Sins and restart the game in Windowed mode (IsWindowed in user.setting) in order to get around the firewall's pop-up. Alternatively, you could configure your firewall prior to starting Sins.


I tried this but it didnt fix my problem. All my firewalls are down and when i log on to iron clad it hangs for 15 sec then i get a message saying i have been disconected. I can play lan games however.

If you are behind a router (including many cable or dsl modems), you will need to specifically forward ports 6000 and 6112 TCP to your machine's IP. Also note that if you're on a university or company network, they could be blocking the ports upstream of you (in which case there's little that can be done, unfortunately).

i forwarded the ports and it still doesn't work :(

edit: I can play other games just fine online so I'm confused as to whats wrong here. Also I can play on LAN.

Start the game in windowed mode (you can set this in the options menu) and try again.
