Colonize ability for Akkan TEC battleship

They're automatically placed.. it doesn't lower the costs of the buildings, just automatically places completed mines on the asteroids

Actually, Annatar, it doesn't.

For some reason or another, I have never seen an extractor either auto-build with this ability, or be shown as costing nothing when you click to build them.

The ability is bugged as far as I know.

That's odd. I haven't played TEC for a long time, but I do remember it working when I did. Will test when I get home

Hmm, what lvl is your colonization? Above 1 right? I ma test it out sometime.

the abilities of the colony cap ships take some time to kick in, as in maybe 30 to 60 seconds.

e.g. for advent the -cost only kicks in after 30 seconds or so, so you need to wait before purchasing the planetary upgrades (it stays at 450 credits.. for like 30 seconds than goes down to 360 or less).

I had my akkan at level 3 colonization (first time I ever brought it above 1) since the ability looked juicy (especially early-game) and actually noticed it at L2 colonization.

I brought it to L3 as well, and didn't notice anything happen. No free extractors, no free "purchased" extractors. This was in 1.02 that I noticed this with a game I played with a friend a couple nights ago.

i was wondering the same thing. However one time i had my akkan colonize when i was not paying close attention and when i came back a few min later there was the un-upgraded planet and 2 mines. so i dont know the details but i have seen it work.

There is a delay when you receive capship colonize ability bonuses. Wait about 30-60 seconds and the extractors should appear. If you build them before this happens though then you get nothing. As far as I know this delay is a bug from when the colonize ability itself took the same amount of time to actually claim the planet.

So it most likely is bugged (or undocumented), but it does work...

Yes the abilities are a bit bugged. Like the advent ability, takes so long to kick in! I think tis a toss back to the beta, when the actual colonize ability took much logner to take effect! It would seem the colonization takes a second, but the secondary effect still works on the old timer.

Also when I colonize while there are still enemy extractors up, that seems to bug the free extractor thing.

I will wait longer to see if the extractors pop up next time. I built the extractors quickly after I thought it did not work, so that might be why I did not get them.
