It shrkes me in the short time I've been in these forums that there is a lot of arrogance here.

So many ppl trying to shut down very valid comments and questions with arrogant and pompous one line replies like,

duh, that's easy, I kick their asses on hard every time,
this is just spam cause I said something about that in another thread.
please don't ask such silly questions.

I wont actually quote any ppl, but you all recognise the attitude.

Why do some members insist on making themselves look so stupid and pompous.

The guys I respect are the ones that help everyone, spend their time to reply to the real noobs and skilled gamers alike,

Not the pig headed morons who think their better than the rest and therefore would rather insult than answer,

Complaining about it isn't going to do anything other than paint yourself as a target for trolls. This is the internet, people are jerks, etc. It's just the way it goes. The only thing you can do is try not to be a jerk as well and to ignore it.

It is better for your sake to simply understand the troll, than to expect them to understand you. So to that end, understand that the resurgence of the same thread topic coming up every hour is the reason so many Trolls are cranky.

For most of us, Doppleganger posts are to be expected, but you don't actually expect trolls to be rational, do you?

This is the best thing I've read all morning. :) *toasts*

I'm wondering if the mix between RTS and 4X gamers here on the forums is contributing to the toxicity; you've got two very different player bases with different tastes in playstyle, from pacing to scope, and Sins, as a genre-bender, tries to compromise between those playstyles with varying degrees of success. So, depending on which side of the fence you come to Sins from, different aspects of the game frustrate you--as might, I expect, the subset of the player base that said aspects are designed to please.

(That being said; I think this game, while not perfect, is brilliant; and I am trying my darndest to hook my entire local gaming group into massive Diplomacy-style galactic backstab-fests on large maps. Great fun!)

I couldn't agree more, If i'd realised what a thunderstorm I was provoking I would have never posted this thread, I still cant understand the anger of some people in answering this, but i guess ill have to chalk it down to ignorance,

I will be leaving them to sink, I wont even be offering them weights, there far too heavy as it is,

I spend more time playing Sins than I do on the forums. However, what the original poster is pointing at is systemic of all online forums. I have no idea why that is. They didn't use to be this way, but I guess it would be because so many people have internet these days and gaming has been exploding in terms of revenue and attention. Thus, people from all walks and backgrounds of life now appear online. That's not necessarily a bad thing all the time.

It's better just to ignore the people you're talking about. They're not going to go away anytime soon, and when one leaves he/she is replaced by another person if not multiple people that will annoy you.

I beat the lock too, but this general thread could have been posted in any forum...so maybe it just needs to be placed in a more relevant area. I, however, would loath to have to be the babysitter that would have to do this.

A thought on a response on this irrelevant thread.

Some want SoaSE to be the ultimate realistic micromanaging space strategy game that takes 30+ hours to see victory, while others want it to be the even rock paper scissors affair that promotes equality and rewards those dexterous mouse clickers.

Others are waiting for GCII:TA. Where is it?
