explorer skinning

i see it in pics, but how is it done?

i was browsing some windowblinds skins, i noticed a few in pictures that show explorer open in the background and it looks alot different. such as the white background will be different color, i cant figure out how to change mine as white is a bit intense.
and the left side panel will look different as well.
so basically no matter what skin i use, the explorer background is always default white. the only way i can change it is to use classic theme and change it in vistas theme options.

i'm on vista x64 with latest WB beta btw.

see this pic below is an example of where the explorer is different than default, the background where folders are shown for instance is the main thing i'd like to change from default white.

*my music folder using this skin doesnt look anything like this one, i dont have no background images as shown in explorer for instance, why is this?

If you have it, run Skinstudio 6, and open your current skin. On the left side, click on "Backgrounds" and select the explorer background option. Find a .bmp or .png (.jpgs don't work) image of your choosing (make sure that it's big enough, or it will tile.) and click apply. If you are still having trouble, read my "Skinning your Windows Explorer Background" article. My Desktop screenshot shows Windows Explorer skinned. (it isn't white).

Vista doesn't support special folder images. These are XP screens.

In Skinstudio you can change the window background color for Vista though in the colors section or by using a background image colored to what you like as decribed in previous post.

ok, i just tried both those methods and they dont work, i'm on 64bit vista, maybe thats why.
kinda annoying cause explorer doesnt match any of my themes very well with that bright white background.

been googling for a way to change its color but nothing comes up to what i'm wanting, must not be a popular thing to change i guess
