Player deletes save file, unable to get back in game.

I've been hosting a game that has unfolded over a period of days and one of the players accidentally deleted his save file for that game. He could not get back in to the game, so I emailed him a copy of my save file and my stats file, but he was still unable to get in. when he'd try to log in, he would show up on the game loading screen for a split second and then disappear. Are there any other files he'll need in order to get back in to the game? Are the save and stat files computer specific, so that they will not work on another player's computer? Or maybe the host file is different from the other player files, so the other player can send him his files?

I'm the "idiot" who deleted all his MP saves (in the two folders -- autosaves included).

Pogue e-mailed me the two files (newbie_3.sav + newbie_3.stats) which were his (the host) files, and I put them in the correct folder (I'm sure of that).

When I tried to join his game reload, on ICO, I was told that I did not have the game's files -- a problem that had not happened the two previous times I had joined a Pogue-game reload. Exiting ICO and Sins, and then re-entering did not fix the situation.

My hypothesis is that I could not use the host's files because ICO detected that they were already in use (when the host was waiting for me). I would have had to possess my own version of the two files, corresponding to my non-host position in that game.

It's only an hypothesis.

I don't know what to say about your situation. The other night, my friend has his video driver crash problem, but worse than usual and it ended his game. I had saved shortly before but for whatever reason, when I hosted the game, he would load into one of our old matches that had the same name.

I then sent him the .save and .stats file of the correct game, he replaced them and I was able to host the game just fine.

You may want to play around more with your save files to see if you can get it to work. Failing that, I don't know what to suggest.

That did not work for us yesterday evening.

Perhaps one of our two files was slightly altered in the e-mail transfer.

It will have to be investigated further.
