Crackling speakers until they completely go out!?

Crackling speakers until they completely go out!?

...but headphones work fine?

So i do know that the speakers are in fine condition, they are a new set of logitech speakers, and perform very nicely for other sound intensive games such as COD4 and FEAR and what have you...

Problem is, whenever i play a game of SINS, the speakers are fine for about 30 sec to a minute and then they begin to crackle, as if someone were messing with the conection cable... It continues this, getting worse by the minute until it just sounds TERRIBLE and some music in the backround running from another program is preferred.

I run a creative Fatality sound card with all the latest drivers... could sins have a problem with x-fi?

All opinions and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Anthony

My sound issues (crackling static sound) stemmed from my video card. Here's a copy of a post I left in the sound problems forum. I'm pretty excited since the game is now playable...

If you have a laptop with an nvidia card this information may help your situation. It appears nvidia barely supports laptop cards (especially older ones as I have a GeForce Go 7300). Anyway, this laptopvideo2go site really helped me out. At first I was using Vista's control panel update button to check the Internet to see if I had the latest video driver; each time Vista said I was up to date so I figured I was--big mistake as the driver was dated 2006 (I'm assuming Vista thought I was up to date since nvidia has put out no driver updates for my card for 2 years). After going through the above mentioned site, now I have a driver from Feb/08 and my static issues are history.

You need to know your operating system (32-bit or 64-bit) and the rest is explained on the site. I had awful crackling speakers and was about ready to give up but this site really did the trick. You need to have some faith in them since you have to bypass a few Vista warnings but I took the leap and it paid off.

Click on the "quickstart guide" to help explain the process.

Best of luck--I know I was pulling my hair out until today because of my sound issues and I bought this game weeks ago.

Cheers,

Swansea

I think that the crackling is something in software... I have moderate crackling which just makes noises whenever the music plays or there's a sound effect. I had patched into v1.3, and then it worked fine. Now, two days after, it goes back to crackling. I've tried everything, and it doesn't change it at all... any ideas?
