Hail Frogboy!

Frogboy!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Especially the last statement of below Frogboy quote. The sooner the better, call me what you may, but I hate exploiters! The Metaverse Score system was meant to show skill, now running the game on and on and on and on and on and on. LOL

Popup - hard to say on the specifics. But the new scoring system has been modified a bit. You don't get nearly as many points for winning beyond humanity. The metaverse analysis program is indicating, for lack of a better term, running up the score type behavior. Where players were just getting near the end and just not finishing the game to run up their score.

The new system takes the amount of time played into account more. I.e. better to finish them off quick if you can. If you go beyond humanity, you get a big bonus for doing that but it may not overcome the time it takes.

Incidentally, down the line pre 1.03A scores on the metaverse will be retroactively adjusted based on the new algorithm."

Thank you Thank :d

This is a really refreshing change - I've not nursed games, but I've certainly not taken the kill as soon as it was available. It will be nice to know that not only will I not be penalised for finishing up in a timely fashion, I might even be rewarded.

The only downside is I wonder how it will affect scores where you pursued an alternative condition? For instance, of the two scores I have left on the metaverse (since it chose to eat my previous 6 when I upgraded to Drengin), the military conquest could have been won by culture sooner by I chose to pursue the military condition. Similarly, my cultural win could have been won by alliance or tech earlier but I wanted to go for the cultural win.

Check out the Metaveres Code Monkey, they have already nerfed the old scores. The Huge 35000 first place single game submitted score top player is gone and is all the 20 k scores as far as I can see.

But I see what ya mean. I have left of "low" scores(1000 to 2000) to wait till I was "skilled" enough(before I foung out the game extension exploit) to compete on Metaverse.

(Sorry for two posts) LOL

(Actually I was excited at the reply I saw, usually I log off and when I finally get back online, the thread is too old to post a reply too LOL)

Damn, I like strategy games because I can make one game last a week or so....

Andre, you can still make it last a really long time. If you're going that long, your Metaverse score probably isn't much of a priority anyway, so, "its your thing, do what you wanna do."

Games on harder difficulties will tend to last longer, so if you want a long game...

That is, of course, assuming the AI doesn't stomp you flat! LOL
