Doh, never got a chance to run the "beta" after I upgraded to Drengin last night. Damn you Frogboy, you work much too fast LOL

If I update main entry on SDC to 1.03 it seems that windowed version is still 1.02, at least window title says so. Does it mean game mechanism is still 1.02 or is game itself 1.03 and just windowing specific stuff is 1.02?

Interesting, but right now I can't access SDC :( ..
Server saturation ? :sniff!:

This is one of the reasons I have yet to complete a single game of GalCiv. Every time I'm in the mop up phase you come up with new game rules and make me start over LOL

Frogboy:

Can you clarify this statement please?

"Efficiency Production Bonuses get penalized if they are > 3X the planet quality"

Precisely which of the following is being implied?

1): If total production > PQ, apply penalty
2): If total free production > PQ, apply penalty
3): If numerical value of total percentage bonus > PQ, apply penalty

By the way, what does this mean? LOL

"+ Colonies on planets + Colonies on planets + AI will disband poor quality colonies."

Quick Bug Report:

Mouse wheel scrolling of sliders has been disabled in the domestic policy screen as it only affects the list political parties now.

There was a bug (playability issue) that starbases would keep pumping up your free production. They're not supposed to do that. When the "free" production bonuses (the +X in the planet screen) reaches 3X the planet quality rating, it starts to take penalties now.

In short, you can build as many star bases as you want, but once you reach 3X the plaent quality in bonus production, it'll start taking penalties which grow increasingly severe.

Should i finish my current game with 1.02.49 before
updating to 1.03? In other words, will 1.03 work with
a saved game from 1.02.49?

Bravo good sirs, You are kings amongst devolpers.. atleast more likely to win in a republic like system.. Or in a democracy, More likely to get people to vote for the Stardock party, but ultimately you will lose due to the ammounts of seats you'd get.. because like... it would be people like rustyblade running in other constituncies.. and we like rustyblade but he's not well known through out ... and his policies would be Angelina based... and .. well he'd probablly win but not everyone..

Might be another bug...

"+ Military resource doesn't increase Hitpoints Ability (it wasn't supposed to in the first place). Just weapons/defense."

I had over +300% hit points from military resources in my last game, and after applying the patch, the bonus has been dropped to +50% even though I did not choose the War Party. This should be reduced to 0%, right?

There seems to be a bug with picking the +15% PQ trait before the patch and then applying it. All of my planets are still listed with their previous PQ value (even after passing a few turns), although the loss in morale from reduced PQ did occur.

Is there an issue of compatability of old save games with 1.03? Just upgraded to 1.03 and my save game went to heck - the morale on all my planets dropped to 1, my budget went massively negative and the Senate display suddenly showed 4294 Industrialists.
Did you make the +15% PQ pick? I think the patch simply nullified that bonus without actually updating the displayed PQ of planets.

Hmmm...that explains most of it - not sure about the horde of Industrialists in the Senate though - I think I am going to have junk the whole game and start over.

I'm in a spammy mood indeed. Dreadnought costs have been increased to 475, and starbases now have a maintenance fee of 5 BC/turn. Time to update my tech tree again I guess.

"Battle Hammer maintenance has been reduced to 3 now"

That's odd. Everyone has been saying they are already too good for what they cost. I guess Brad disagreed :p
