Short men

I don't want no short short man!

Hehe, work with me here folks...........

Short men make me nervous. Seriously nervous. I always think they are up to something, that because they are so small they can't be trusted, or maybe that's just men in general? I just don't find a short man attractive. I have all these preconcieved notions about them, that I know are wrong but I can't stop them jumping in my head when I see these little men. They remind me of them little terrior dogs, who just yap and yap, and you're so tempted to kick them to shut them up, but you know cruelty to animals is wrong, just like cruelty to short men is, hehe!

I like a big man, that's tall, and you actually feel looked after with. I think short men are all bitter and twisted about being so little, and over time, it turns them in to psychotic short people. I know what I'm talking about people, I'm the female version ;). I always think they'll act all nice and sweet, and then at the slightest thing they will change into angry, sadistic short men. Like they'll get your ankle and just not let go.

This isn't to say I would turn a short man down. This is to say it's not at the top of my list as specifics. If I met a short man that was adorable, and funny and sweet, I would be silly to say, no I don't want to get to know you because you're short, wouldn't I? As I said these little creatures just make me nervous.

So what is a short man? In theory, in my humble opinion, anything below 5'6 is short for a man. Having said that, anything tall to me is over 5'2 (told you I was a shorty) so really I just wasted a blog.....

Maybe it's me with the problem about height....now there's a thought!

Heh. I pass the standard as a tall man then. Just barely.

I'm 5'7". Doubt I'll get much taller.

I guess short is relative. I'm 6'3....my older brother is 6'8....Which makes me the SHORT one!

Sally: This was cute! I agree with you, too . . . for me, though, a man needs to be at least 5'10" (I'm 5'5") . . . of course, my awesome hubby is a nice 6' even . . . I want to have stretch to kiss him and . . . I don't want a guy that weighs less than me . . . yuck! No scrawny guys . . . and if I gain weight, he'd better gain some, too 'cause I don't want to wear the biggest pants in the house!

Hello from a short, dark skined guy!
I'm 5'2" and I can pretty much confirm that women don't want short men. I've definitely seen the disappointment in women's faces when I stand up. That's basically one of the main reasons that I became a doctor cause I could see from a young age that it'd be a pretty rough market for me. So I realized that I just need to meet that one person and actually things are working out ok since there's always some nurse interested in me and the money's ok(or will be when I finish my residency in a few years) and the ladies all know that docs are basically quality guys. So I'll get the one woman that I need in life. Gotta admit though that being this short drops you from being an 8 or 9 to like a 3 or 4. I definitely don't get the action that I would if I was 6 feet tall and I do want to just have daughters cause I know it'll be tougher in the life of my kids if they're short males. Being short is sort of like being really fat - except you can't change it. You're gonna take a major hit in life. Let me tell you, I've connected with more people than most of you have and I think you guys have likely got a mistaken understanding of reality. Being short doesn't mean you're a psycho, in fact I'm one of the most popular residents with the nursing staff cause I'm cool to get along with and funny. It's just a learned prejudice about short people, just like fat people. People are gonna see someone fat or short and just have bad opinions/stereotypes. We're a looks oriented society - that's just a fact. Plus, unlike being a fat woman, society feels it's cool to rip on a short guy. There's one nurse who reminds me what a shorty I am approximately once or twice per week with some crude joke - as if I keep forgetting. Can you imagine what kind of replies would've been here if this post was about ripping on fat women - which incidentally some of you may become(no offense intended, but let's be realistic)? So I think that's a fair assessment of reality. I'll admit that most short guys are afraid to talk about it for fear of appearing weak or whatever.... You gotta realize if you've already got a highly negative preconcieved notion that's gonna taint your perception and give you a false sense of the true reality. But you may or may not care.

My husband is a good 6" taller than me...I'm 5'2" and he's 5'8" and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I just can't hang with short dudes...I dunno why.  I think that part of it is psychological; I have a 'big' personality so I need someone physically bigger than me to make me feel feminine and girly...and short guys just don't do that.


It's also my experience that shorter men have shorter willies.  Yes, size does matter.

Hi! I almost agree with youl For me its more about the security. Im 5'11 so I really like to find taller bigger guys. Anything over 6'3 is awesome lol. Ive dated people shorter than me before so im not shallow. Its just feels uncomfortable i guess. Good article. I would love to be shorter myself lol.

Good comments "littledoc'. I am 5'5" and I know what you are talking about in your post. This article by this woman was honest, but it really shows how much discrimination exists out there. What if her messsage said, "I can't really date Jewish men...I just don't know what it is about them...they tend to be greedy, I think." I also thought that it was interesting that no one replied to your message. The next two replies acted like nothing was even said. Also, saying that the article was "not to be taken seriously" is ridiculous. Of course it is serious, and it wan't meant to be a joke.

For the record, I think everyone is entitled to their preferences. If you don't want to date fat women, christians, jews, short guys, blond girls, black people, etc...it's cool. But I think it becomes a problem when this spills over into things that have nothing to do with relationships. I have to wonder if the author of this piece would hire a short guy to work for her? She clearly believes that short guys are inferior, so I wonder if that is extended to all aspects of life, in her mind?
