metaverse problem

i registered with the metaverse with my downloaded version, which used the drengin network serial, and had no problems submitting, but when i got my cd in the mail i chose to install from that, which required a seperate gal civ serial, and i think it's causing problems with my metaverse account, because my scores are not being added to my account which was registered with the drengin serial. i've tried registering again with my gal civ serial but that didn't work. any ideas? and sorry if this has already been addressed

For the love of God, I too have had a problem getting posted... I've won some good scores (one recently was over 1000, which made me happy, but no! I hit submit, never expecting it to fail, but sure enough - it never made it. WORSE... I upgraded to the newer release, and lo and behold, the old game would not reload where I could re-end my game and get that score re-submitted. So I lost an excellent opportunity! If you can resolve this, please let me know!!!

I have counted 6 people today that have been unable to load scores. Several, myself included have not had a problem uploading scores in the past. There has been no response to any posts on this. The silence is deafening.

I have never seen the submit button and my saved games folder is getting pretty full with those 1 turn to wins.
I too have a game from cd....I can load up the metaverse from the main menu so i know it is not the internet connection :notsure:

I found something out just now that may be causing people problems (I know it drove me nuts for a bit). If you have Internet Explorer up and have it set to work offline then GalCiv will not post your Metaverse score. I have no idea why, possibly when IE sets the 'work offline' flag it declares that there is no internet connection so GalCiv doesn't try to send, I dunno. But I do know that once I figured out what was going on and changed IE to 'work online' the game I was working on posted just fine.

I work offline with JavaScout's great tech tree database (kudos to him for making this, it totally rocks) pulled up in IE, I connected to the internet before the game finished but apparently Windows told GalCiv there was no connection because I was working offline even though I'd dialed in. *growl*

So for any of you out there that can't get a game submitted, or sometimes can and sometimes can't, you might check to see if this is the problem.

Is anyone in the tech support department actually even seeing this problem reported? I have made similar posts complaining that my scores won't submit ..... no response. It would be nice to see somewhere that this problem had even been acknowledged, even if it can't be corrected. Someone, ANYONE, just post somewhere that you have heard the complaint and either a) your working on fixing it, b) you've already fixed it and have a solution, c) you have no idea how to fix it, or d) you could give a shit less about whether or not a dozen or so people can't post their scores and are just happy that the majority of people can.

Well, as far as I can tell the people who handle metaverse don't come on the forums much. That doesn't mean Brad or someone else doesn't let them know something is up. I don't think Metaverse itself is broken because for the majority of people it works fine, but rather that the problems are on a case by case basis. Maybe taking it to e-mail rather than the forums would be better so you could work it out personally with tech support?
