Help - Alliances

I have the alliance technology, but I can't make alliances with other races, please help, an enemy alliance is destroying me while my enemies enemy looks on !!!!!

Even without a formal Alliance, you can always just pay your enemy's enemy to get involved on your side. :)

I second Ash.
Bribery is a valid strategy at this point... but remember them later on in the game when revenge becomes an option ;) .

I cant bribe them to attack the other alliance because the attack treaty option in the diplomacy screen only lists minor races.
