Tech Tree Update: April 9th

Latest update includes:

- Empire wide wonder bonuses now distinguished from planetary level bonuses (thanks to Javascout's update)
- Fixed descriptions for Virtual Reality Center, Xeno Propoganda, and Terra Computers projects
- Eye of the Universe now grants +10 sensor range
- Fixed speed assist starbase module requirements
- Space Militarization does not require Exotic Alloy
- Minor formatting changes

The Excel download was added recently after I abandoned my Yahoo and Tripod sites in favor of Aerol's. I should probably have made it available earlier as it seems to be more printer friendly than the GIF pictures.

I think in many respects I was still playing the game while I worked the tech tree. The entire process was incredibly helpful in formulating my research strategy for sure :)

Is there a practical printable tech tree somewhere? I downloaded this excel one but it said it would print 36 pages?

Tokaii, you need to use an application that knows how to fit the number of pages you want. Personally I use Corel Photo-Paint, but there are lots of others apps that can do this.

I have to say again, Za'H, this is incredible stuff. I wish StarDock would pay you to place this puppy in-game

You can change the the zoom factor for printing in Excel through the page setup options (i.e. File -> Page Setup). Look for the adjustable scaling factor under the "Page" tab of that window and check your results in print preview. Excel can do some strange things when shrinking text, but it's worth a shot I suppose.

Augusten:

I would pay StarDock to include a tech tree in game so I wouldn't have to Alt-Tab out all the time ;)

If it's any comfort, I've condensed the tech tree somewhat in the latest version so it only takes up 24 A4 pages at 100% zoom now LOL

Hey Za H.. for some reason the Excel file is not located from the above link. Is it somewhere else? I prefer that one.. I can't print much easier with it! Thanks for your work!

Maybe your browser is using a cashed page? Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and mouse click on the reload button if you're using Internet Explorer. That will force it to refresh the page. You can also clear your temporary internet files to trigger that refresh too.
