Can't start

from Stardock Forums
I have an AMD computer with a Sis 741 (video card integrated in the Motherboard) and Windows XP.

I can't play "GalCiv". When I start the game, I see the intro screens (Strategy First ---> Stardock----> Intro movie), but, after the intro movie, the game just crashes and returns to Windows.

If i click or press a key to skip intro, the game does exactly the same: dissapears and returns to Windows.

I've tried with the 1.2 update but the game still can't start.

What could be the problem? Thank you.

odd. how old is the SiS 741?

Maybe a couple of years or three, I don't know for sure. It has 64 Mb of video memory.

should be ok then. GC1 doesn't have any special video requirements. might be a driver issue? either you don't have the latest drivers, or the latest drivers have an incompatibility issue and mght need to be rolled back. probably the best thing is to send your debug.err to stardock. they're very helpful

Ich habe fast das selbe Problem wie"Dilettante",nur bei mir ist der Bildschirm nach dem intro schwarz.
Habe Galactic Civilizations 1.2.

Windows XP
AMD Sempron 2400
RADEON 9500
Versucht auch mit Riva TNT2

Was muss ich machen damit das Spiel läuft?
