frickin CD key!

Ok.. I consider myself a somewhat intelligent individual. I bought the deluxe edition... and can't get the stupid thing past the key installation. So... i guess i just have to be stupid on some of my questions...

1. my key has dashes in it... must i include those? ie... DN-05blah blah??

2. must everything be in caps?

3. i have done the whole switching thing with the i and the o etc... but maybe someone can catch somethign i'm not. a 0 should have the little slash through it... right?

4. i tried switching the two codes... (they came on the back of the instruction guide IN the cd case.) and still nothing... what am i doing wrong???

From what I heard, the manufacturer has the keys backwards. That is, the altarian prophecy one is for GalCiv and vice versa.

But we're not positive as Stardock wasn't involved with GalCiv Deluxe other than having made the games themselves.

I don't have the deluxe edition, but I know for TG.net subscription, it was case sensitive, and the dashes were required.

Good luck, man.

Well, there is a simple way to know if you have a valid serial ID: try to register your player here http://www.galciv.com/playerreg.asp.

I have only GC (not AP) and my Serial Id looks like:
DN, a dash, 6 numbers, a dash, GC1, a dash, a combination of ten alpha numeric character, and all in caps.

i have done the whole switching thing with the i and the o etc... but maybe someone can catch somethign i'm not. a 0 should have the little slash through it... right

Well, not always: "O", "0". The letter is closer to a circle and the number to a rectangle.

Hope this help.

The Galciv key has -GC1- in the middle. The Altarian prophecy has -AP1- in the middle. Good luck!
