Game runs minimized!

i got my self a 2nd hand comp and tryed to run Gal Civ buy it runs minimized, i click on it and it keeps returning to the desk top, i have update dirext x and have a 64MB graphics card

Please Help

Mine did the same thing for a while until I realized I had earthlink's tool bars open. Try it with just galciv running and nothing else open.

Also, make sure that you're running in at least 1024x768. You could also try running in windowed mode, but for that your desktop will need to be set to 16 bit color.

If you don't know how to run in windowed mode, the easiest way is generally to use a shortcut. 

1) Use Windows Explorer to find GalCiv.exe.
2) Right click on GalCiv.exe and choose create shortcut.
3) Right click on the shortcut and choose properties.
4) Click in the target field and hit end.  Hit Space followed by a w.
